Elizabeths Garden Florist is owned and operated by Elizabeth Ghiz Fay, a graduate of the American Floral Art School , Chicago. Elizabeth also attended Humber College , Toronto in the Retail Floriculture program. Elizabeth spent seven years in Toronto Ontario in a high end flower shop providing flowers for large and lavish weddings and events . In 1986 Elizabeth returned to Charlottetown where she worked at Holland College teaching floral design skills and well as holding design shows. Elizabeth and her business partner at the time created a , unique to Charlottetown , event called Celebrations Bridal Show that meant brides could attend a full scale trade show and fashion show for wedding planning . Elizabeth had the pleasure of being the florist for the Lieutenant Governor at Fanning Bank for several years . She opened her successful retail flower shop in 1993 and in 2007 she moved her business to a more online basis as she saw the need for a more personalized and convenient online shopping experience .
